I have just finished The Valley of Horses by Jean M. Auel. This book is a very well-written adult epic novel. The Valley of Horses leads you through a young girl's expulsion from her clan to a valley where she kills a dam steppe horse for food. She later finds out that the dam had a foal. She raises the foal and becomes the first human to ride a horse. Auel takes you on an adventure through the dawn of mankind. I think this book is a fictional version of the evolution of humans. Auel takes you exploring the infancy of civilization on different terms than the Biblical and scientific versions. I recommend this book to all readers looking for a non-stop action adventure book.
