14-year-old Mouse's father, who split from the family eight years ago, is now trying to get back in with " the moms." Beverly, a new girl in town, seems to like the Mouse and his best friend. Sheri is trying to get Mouse's crew to join in for a dance contest, but the guys seem to want to go and play basketball until the "Selects" grab their attention with a little treasure hunt. A Tiger Moran gang robbed a bank back in the 30's, and the money was said to be hidden in an empty Harlem building; the Mouse's crew is in for some action. Myers grabs the reader with the inner city slang and raps. He makes the reader feel like they're in the story along side the Mouse and his crew. If you want a book that captures your attention, this is a book for you.
