The Giver, by Lois Lowry

Reviewed by Pooja Barbhaiya, 12, Pennington, NJ

The Giver is about a boy named Jonas who is given his lifetime assignment, in which he has no say, at the Ceremony of Twelve. Jonas becomes the receiver of memories which is shared by only one other being in his community. He soon learns the terrible truth about what was thought to be the "perfect" society.

This is a wonderful book written by a wonderful author. I think any type of reader would enjoy this book.

In my opinion, this is what our society is going to be like if we're not careful.
