Buck is a big dog that has a peacefill life on his rich owner's property, until one day when one of the workers kidnaps the dog. He makes him a sled dog to look for gold in Alaska. The dog goes through many more masters, and learns many lessons. Eventually, he ends up with one great master that he truly loves. But will the wildness of his ancestors come forward? Or will he remain ruled by humans for the rest of his life?
This book had many good things in it. The best thing it contained was Jack London's use of description. He made you feel like you were actually in the woods with Buck. The other thing he did that was very good was he went into Buck's brain and told you how a dog in Buck's situation would feel.
I would recommend this book to anybody who loves nature and the outdoors. You should also read it if you love dogs. Jack London does a great job with description and putting you in the head of a dog in Buck's situation. I give this book two thumbs up!
