Silver is a fascinating story about a young girl named Sarabeth Silver. She lives in a trailer park with her mother because her father had died a while back. Silver (Sarabeth), and her mother have financial trouble and they have to be careful of how they spend their money, so Sarabeth can't buy all the expensive things other kids buy. Her mother's occupation is to clean all the houses in the rich neighborhood. When Silver goes to school each day, she can't help noticing this little clique of beautiful girls. Silver tries so hard to be accepted into their group. Finally they do all become friends. Silver learns some things, though, that are so bad she can hardly believe them.
Norma Fox Mazer does a fantastic job in her novel! She does a great job in description and creativity. She really expresses the emotional feelings of Sarabeth and her friends well.
Silver is a wonderful novel! You can relate well to the emotions and probably understand the feelings of them, even though you have not witnessed them. Silver should be read by every young adult.
