Published by Scholastic Books 1984 Christi Bay and Lizbeth are very psyched when movie actor Phil Grey comes to town to put on the play Oliver. They want to be in the play, but there is one problem: BOYS ONLY! They come up with a master plan. Chris Bayton (a.k.a.Christi Bay) goes to tryouts and gets the part and a once in a lifetime chance to work with Phil Grey. Christi should be the happiest female in the world, so why isn't she? It could be because she lied or feels guilty. Should she tell Phil the truth and risk getting fired from the play? I think this is an excellent book for pre-teen to teen females. Christi has a lot of courage to break the gender barrier and prove she is an excellent ACTOR. This book is a talented work for Levy. As Siskel and Ebert would say, "Two very enthusiastic Thumbs Up."
