Scholastic Inc. 1984 Tracy and Kelly have been best friends since they were little kids. They find out how hard staying friends is when Tracy gets a chance to be in the popular crowd. With her out-of-date, no-frame glasses and her ankle-length skirts, Kelly doesn't fit in. Tracy can't help but wonder why Kelly doesn't try be more like other people, but after all, isn't everyone different? Patrica Hermes has a wonderful way of making the story come together. She brilliantly fits the characters with their actions and their language. This is a definite read for anyone who has ever had to pick between popularity and her best friend.
