Dell Publishing, 1984, 159 pages. After the tragic death of Shane Morgan's mother, Shane's life began to fall apart. His father, Josh Morgan, began to drink heavily and life as a rodeo clown wasn't paying the bills. When his grandfather died and left them his ranch, Shane couldn't have been happier. Maybe in this town they could live as a real family in a house and finally finish a school year in one town. But Shane finds it is not so easy on his first day at school. He is harassed by the school tough guy and rescued by a girl after his drunken father yells at the principal. A wonderful book that keeps the reader in suspense and begging for more. Cowboys Don't Cry is a wonderful first-person narrative and all around good book.
