Freak the Mighty by Rodman Philbrick, published by Scholastic Inc. 1993, was an excellent book. It is a powerful but sad story about two best friends helping each other overpower their own handicaps. Max and Freak are best friends who go through many situations that Freak helps them get them out of: kidnaping, being chased, quests,buried treasure, and dragon slayings. Rodman Philbrick has an excellent style of writing and makes you feel what the characters are feeling. A MUST READ!
