The Crush

From the first moment
that I saw his face,
I felt like my heart began
to cross the finish line of a race.

When he walked over to me
he smiled and said "hi,"
in my mind I thought
I can never say good-bye.

Now when I see him
there is still that dream,
that makes my heart say
I'll love you forever it seems.

Every time I'm near him
my heart skips a beat
my eyes grow dim,
and I have to take a seat.

And I know that he is my crush
and that all will be fine
I now know that I love him,
but that he will never be mine.
