Why?

Why did the destruction last so long?
Didn’t anybody care enough for the Jews?
Where did time go?
When help came was it already too late?
The terror could have been stopped earlier.

For the free, time flows away, so far away,
They don’t notice until its gone. away,
So far away they can’t remember where it went.

For the imprisioned each moment crawled by
In sadness
Depressed, they asked, “Why?”
