Results of the WV Chapter of Muskies Inc. Spring Mail-in Tournament, which is held for members and their guests:

First Place: Scott Smith, 2 fish caught at Cave Run KY 4/12/96 41-1/2" and 33" for 22.5 points

Second Place: Jerry Myers, 1 fish caught at Poca River WV 4/11/96 41" for 15 points

Third Place (TIE): Larry Robinson, 1 30" fish caught at Leesville Lake, OH 4/22/96 for 4 points

Third Place (TIE): Bill Gibbs, 1 30" fish caught at Leesville Lake, OH 4/22/96 for 4 points

Explanation of points: 30" fish receives 4 points, 1 point for each additional inch

Muskie fishing in WV has been slow (at least for me). The WV Chapter tournament was the last two weeks. The only fish I caught was a 20-1/2" rainbow trout, quickly released. April 11, 12, 13 was the 1996 Cabin Fever Challenge at Cave Run Lake in Kentucky. One of our local muskie fishermen, Scott Smith of the Golden Net Chapter, won the largest with 41.5 in release. Scott's fish was netted and witnessed by another Golden Net member Ray Hensley, who incidentally is the maker of the Widow Maker baits.
