Johnny's an electronic courier with a Dyslexia prosthesis 320-gigabyte memory chip wetwired directly into his brain, and he's uploaded too much stolen data this time. He's suffering from synaptic seepage that's going to kill him in days. In his head is the cure for NAS, Nerve Attenuation Syndrome, the disease that's killing half the planet. The world's largest crime organization, the Yakuza, are trying to get him and cut off his head. A post-human satanical street preacher with a hobby of crucifying people is after him too. His only help is street smart Jane who is heading towards the last stages of NAS and a band of criminals known as the Loteks. The only way to get the data out of his head is to kill him first, until they meet Jones, a cybernetic dolphin that's addicted to heroin. Johnny Mnemonic was a very good book even though I thought it was going to be really bad. I had read the short story by William Gibson and had thought it was very good. I was fairly prejudice against the book because Terry Bisson was getting all the credit for it.It was a very good book and I would recommend it to anyone who likes fast paced violent Science Fiction.
